1.3 Why Gait Analysis?

We have history taking, physical examination and observational gait analysis to evaluate patients/subjects with abnormal/pathologic gait. In addition to these three essential steps of gait evaluation, instrumental gait analysis can provide unique data, which is very useful. 

Objective data 

Quantification (may included in objectivity) Magnification: time and space 

Dynamic evaluation 

Derives clinically meaningful information 

(Suggest etiology of pathologic gait)
